In a small Fitzroy laneway, humble.something is an old warehouse space converted into a quirky mixed-use venue for short stay and event hire. With it, we wanted to explore what makes spaces successful; how we develop community and influence cities from the ground up; and how we actually activate spaces in ways that appeal to 'us.’

Taking matters into our own hands we took out a lease on this space that was once a meat store, a gallery, a bank and an office for start ups and thrust ourselves into giving it another incarnation.

Branding it "humble.something“ after ourselves had meaning: the "humble" describing both a beginning and a sense of value for us; the "something" a nod to it being a bit of a spatial experiment. We wanted to make a place to think, relax, create, hang out; to work and entertain. To create a place where the possibilities could be endless. We’re loving seeing some of those come to reality so far…
