In July we hosted our first event at humble.something, an 80th birthday celebration that was an opportunity to see what we meant when we said we hoped this space could be ‘something and anything,’ depending on whom was using it — and for what kind of occasion.

After a day’s worth of rearranging furniture and reimagining the spaces that until that point had been used for short-term accommodation and guests, our Brunswick Street space was ready to seat a dinner for eighty and for Tony’s closest friends and family to get together, catch up and celebrate a lifetime.

Entryways became reception, refreshment and gift dropoff points; dining rooms turned oyster- and canape bars; living rooms became spaces to mingle and our gallery made quite the generous-ceilinged dining room for three courses of good times.

We resisted the urge to participate in the food and champagne while at the event to try and capture a few of these moments and vibes — but were happy that Tony had all the best of celebrations nonetheless.
